Leap of Faith

All serious religions require a true believer to confess a leap of faith. For example; parting the waters to escape the Pharaoh on dry ground, riding a horse from the Temple mount into the sky to confer with Angel Gabriel and of course the ultimate miracle of rising from the dead, all these defy critical thought but are central to the religions of Judaism, Islam and Christianity. According to the scientific method these beliefs are not rational.

The leaps of the many other religions are too numerous to list here. A true believer defends the leap of his faith with intensity often bordering on the irrational. By the way, that is why it is called a belief and not a science. The unkind have been critical referring to religion as psychological delusions.
